Secrets With The Moon

Bent way over, like the branches of a weeping willow

you shyly peer into my bedroom shades

And I adjust that old goose down, feather pillow

another evening of our serenades

For sixty years now, you have been a witness

watched my hopes and dreams, floating like clouds

Forgiveness really is a tricky business

and I'd be lost if you were not around

A thousand stories and sweet conversations

you know the secrets I could never tell

But you have always been in the equation

as proud as when the ocean starts to swell

Still offering comfort to my disappointments

a guiding light leading me safely to shore

Who's to say, maybe you're clairvoyant

knowing that I was meant for so much more
