Secret Life

The double life isn’t suited for the faint of heart.

I am a regular face in the crowd,

but behind it all my real life is in the shadows

waiting and watching for my moment to shine.

I have created masterpieces with words,

cascading colors imprinted within a reader's mind

and I have done it all in secret.

My words are the vessel for something greater,

my performance is but another mask,

and I enjoy the spotlight.

My name, I chose well

for it hides more than meets the eye.

Who I am is a secret,

my life is the poetry

and I mean every single line.
