I’ll not have second thoughts this time
when I come face to face with The Doctor.
Many nights ago, the Tardis appeared outside my window,
the door clicked open, and The Doctor stepped out.
Seeing me gazing at him, he smiled and beckoned.
But I,
too timid,
too terrified at the thought
of leaving my comfortable life and those I loved
Turned away.
Convinced myself it was only a dream
from an overactive imagination
of my favorite TV show.
Now those foggy memories of that night past
are pushing towards the surface
as if he is dipping his finger into my mind
and stirring them awake.
I dream every night of the Tardis
A blue and blurry smudge at first
that fades in and out.
But lately, it is sharp and clear.
Tonight, I was awakened
with a keen sense of his presence.
I slipped out into the velvety darkness.
I could see the glowing Tardis
waiting for me.
The door opens and the Time Lord steps out.
My Doctor has come back for me.
He is smiling and I return his smile.
I walk toward his extended hand_open
and slip mine easily into his
It closes warmly around mine.
The Tardis opens its door to us
for new worlds to explore and new adventures to share.
Anyone watching would’ve seen two people
enter an out of place blue police call box
see it blur in and out of focus
and then_
Vanish!
