the best that you can hope for
is to be smothered with a pillow
as you dribble and piss your pants,
by a tall mute Indian
anything less

that’s anybody’s guess
sometimes no sometimes yes
the best that you can hope for
is to cut off your leg with a hacksaw
before the petrol tank explodes
an elaborate movie scene death
beats thinking about a last breath
anything less
is just second best
no matter how it’s dressed
you will meet the unimpressed
and the best that you can hope for
is to fall and die screaming
from the Nakatomi Plaza tower
as Bruce looks on
smugly from the best possible camera angle
it gets ya right in the chest
anything less
is just second best
and it must be stressed
it’s all kinds of messed
