Season and Fill

I was the sunny side up version of you.

Stop and reminisce, and you’ll see.

I was the smile to your frown,

the jewel to your crown.

I remember all your soothing words,

the birds overhead and perked up.

Then, I went away,

but you were there to stay.

I took my season and fill,

and you kept waiting and waiting til’…

I came back again a year later,

and you made me feel even greater.

We visited and watched the world,

as people and their families walked by.

I cannot lie,

this season is natural and fruitful,

as I am a flower and you are a leaf.

Ahh, this is so sweet! Some people are like perennial gardens—no matter how many seasons pass, they bloom again when you return. 🌷
