A Poem About Searching For The Light

Combing through the mysteries of life

The dark edges of my inner cosmos

By way of my mystical heart

Searching endlessly to find a clue

To where imagining ends and living begins.

*

Sitting in the lotus

Staring inward bound

Searching for my soul

Amongst a cobweb of dreams

And angst-ridden sounds

Of dark melody.

*

Were I a bird

My plumage would be dark

If a dragon, then one with the fire extinguished

I fear I live in a dark imaginary world

Where true living is for others

And all light has been expunged.

*

Such am I

A night creature

Searching for the light

Searching for life

But for the moment

I search in vain.
