sea glass

environmental poem | 23.10.25

By I. D. ReevesPublished 3 months ago 1 min read

discarded shards of green sea glass

are human sins made tangible

they’re tossed and turned in ocean blue

to have their edges worn away

by grit and sand of monster waves

what once was rough is now made smooth

and made at home along the shore

casting their glow on auburn shells

from yellow sunlight shining through

may mother nature find a way

to take our pride and foolish waste

and not return to us our doom

but give us mercy undeserved

like broken glass remade anew

nature poetry
