Sea Glass

Heart

By Jjenni Dagnelli Published 4 years ago 1 min read

Sea glass

It fills me up without any thought of the feelings spinning inside

Filled with useless words until spoken

Ripping out the heart strings that tie me to the edges of my emotions

Time becomes a drifting thing that echoes a faint memory of life shadowed beyond a dream my soul continues to crave

Pulling me in

Pushing me back

Away like the sand to the sea

Always there in its sand castle of dreams

Waves crashing down and rolling out taking with them the tiny pieces unseen

Fragmented glass particles reflecting in the silky wet shine making them harder to see in the bright light bearing down as the next one rolls in and swallows me

I can’t feel my toes for a second to long and I’m swept away into the night

My hands reach out to grab hold of the sand covered walls only to find vacant eyes starring off into the memories of someone else

Broken light making the shadows swell

Twisting each feeling like a taunt rope until it breaks away all the frayed edges holding me together

Tension stretches over my bones and crawls across my skin

I have become haunted by my own ghost searching through the darkness as I lay my body in the memories of him

He turns away

He holds me close

He fills my heart

Forever his ghost @OriginalGhostPoetry
