We are all characters in someone else’s story
Messed with for an unknown audience’s entertainment
The ups and downs of our lives just the twists and turns of their plot
Our heartstrings pulled as they ship and unship our pairings
Our limits tested as we win one day, lose the next at their whim
Our emotions rubbed raw as loved ones are killed off
Well, screw them and the strings that they pull—
Screw this path that they have put us on
Screw their cookie-cutter plots
Screw their character arcs
Screw the writer of the universe
I want to be the author of my destiny
I want to develop my own character
I want control of my own life
I will pen my own plot
