Screams From Down Under
A story of sleep paralysis and nights of insomnia following.
A bleaque scene
In a dark room
After midnight
My pillow over my face
I suffocate in the sounds
Of screams from down under
Voices only I can hear
Shadows only I fear
Surround me
An opera of torment befalls my ears
The screams from down under
Hell's choir
A symphony I cannot silence
A disturbance with no break in it's audio
As the sun turns its face
Voices gather in the moonlight
And sing to me, their screams from down under
A cacophonic song
No sleep
No slumber
This music I am forced to face
Sirens sing to me their serenade
Screams from down under
A paralyzing tone
To the tempo of my racing heart
They sing the anthem of slumber's absence
Killing my dreams
And scaring away my peace
Their echos of horror
Torment me
To the sun's ignorance
For until its light returns
I am held captive
Their hands placed over me
In unfiltered harmony
They sing to me
Their screams from down under
About the Creator
Josh Morgan
Personally, writing began as a creative outlet, to be a means of processing and venting emotion, but it has become so much more. Something I want not to be just relatable, enjoyable and a good read, but to reach someone who is in need.
