Screaming In Silence

Listen Closely

By Tamera TatePublished 4 years ago 1 min read

I’m screaming right now. Can you hear it?

With a smile on my face I’m screaming at you. Are you listening?

Tears fall from my puffy red eyes and drench a pillow I scream in ever night.

Can’t you tell?

I’m loudly breaking right in front of you but the room is silent.

I’m standing in front a crowd screaming. Hoping just one person hears me, but...

Nothing

I’m telling you I’m losing myself again.

I’m saying how the emptiness is starting to feel like home and I think I want to stay.

I’m yelling at you to tell me to come back.

But you don’t even know I’ve left because my smile remains.

My nights are long and days disappear as soon as they begin.

I’m here but I’m lost in my forest of thoughts. Screaming in silence.

Find me.

I’m drifting to a place that feels like home these days.

A place where my tears are sacred and my screaming sobs echo through the halls.

You can’t hear it?

I’m screaming in silence, but all you hear is “I’m okay”.
