Thanks for reading!

Author's Notes: Three senryu that worked well together in the format above. Originally posted this late and didn't do any of my usual nonsense. This is another entry into my senryu series Scratches In My Mind that I am hoping to transform into a small chapbook-style book before the end of the year. I am not saying that the book will necessarily be a great Christmas gift, but it might be. You know. Little nuggets of truth, little thought-provoking slant views on life, reality, the world around us in classic Japanese 5-7-5 form.

I am really terrible at selling ideas. Would you believe that I was the person that created the concept of the food truck? But, alas, someone was better at selling the idea than me and stole all the credit for themselves.

That is probably bullcrap, but you know. You read it, so who's the real fool here?

Anyway, thank you as always.

Here's the usual upsell. (they're all free)

Are we supposed to read top to bottom times 3 ? Yes?

😊 👍 Um… Paul!!… “That is probably bullcrap, but you know. You read it, so who's the real fool here?” Hah! Have you still got the same number of subscribers after that comment? 😆

An excellent addition! Bravo, Paul! Very clever concept that definitely prompted rereads and closer looks!

This triple Senryu is strangely gripping, Paul. I love the bracketing of the present and the future as well as connecting love of good with choosing answers and hate of the bad questioning everything. I don’t think we are ever truly one or the other. One is not necessarily good and the other bad. Sophocles believed that whatever the god’s willed was just and yet his contemporary Euripides believed that if the god’s were unjust that they were not gods! Good luck parsing that! The food truck idea is mostly a hard sell since it was invented before you were born!

I love the format you experimented with here. It gave way to opposing notions but also gives the readers license to feel context as we like!! Great work Paul!!

We love good people. We hate bad people. Perhaps it is the loving that makes them good. Or better, at least!

I love the art within your conflictions...profound thoughts captured and drawn with letters that make words that make sense!

  • Kinda depends because I sometimes love bad people and hate good people. Hehehehehe
