Scars are left behind

Abandoned by cowards

Some left for the mind

But always by cowards

Scars make a man

Broken by a shame

Scars scare a woman

Believing in the shame

Scars craft lives

Lives cowards mould

Rarely using knives

Words a better mould

My scars are mine

Some gifted to myself

Reminders of my crime

The coward to myself

Scars keep me humble

My skins always covered

Egos slowly crumble

Forever, always covered.

Scars - a poem written for all those who have physical, emotional or spiritual scars they carry and hide. I can't tell anyone not to hide their scars. I can't help you get courage from them.

I do want us to understand that we all carry them.
