Scammers, oh where do they hail from,

Their voices so convincing, so calm.

They lure you in with enticing calls,

Peddling shares, insurance, and mortgage stalls.

Their words drip with professionalism,

Directing you with practiced precision.

"Visit this site, click on this link,"

Innocent victims, they swiftly hoodwink.

With respect, we invite them into our space,

Unwittingly allowing them a trace.

They exploit our trust, our hard-earned dime,

These lazy souls, committing their crime.

Behind desks, they think none can see,

"Just making a living," they decree.

Yesterday, seeking a part-time role,

I found myself ensnared in their dark control.

An assignment seemed easy, a quick task,

Work through the night, earn a few bucks fast.

Little did I know, I'd entered their game,

Completed the task, seeking fortune and fame.

They praised my speed, promised payment bright,

My heart soared with the prospect of light.

But then came the demand, "Send fifty more,"

To process the payment, they implore.

Naively, I comply, send the requested fee,

Thinking of the salary awaiting me.

But as I await the promised pay,

I receive a message, and dismay.

"The website is down," they declare,

My heart sinks into a pit of despair.

Another message, a warning, a shout,

"Beware of scammers," I hear them tout.
