I was editing photos.
I saw azalea shriveled,
pink trumpet tree blooming,
lighting up the blue sky,
redbud just starting,
while the Chinese rain tree
sprouted new leaves.
I had paused to smell,
the purple lavender,
as bees hovered around,
and swallows flied overhead,
So much to see,
so much to smell,
and we are lost
in your self-made problems,
ignoring these spectacles.
It’s an insult to nature —
just like when our mother
slogged in the kitchen,
made many dishes for us,
and served with love,
and we said,
"I don't like it,"
"I am not hungry,"
"I have no mood."
She would be hurt,
even if she didn’t say it.
So don’t ignore nature —
for own happiness’ sake.
Nature holds the key
to our fulfillment.
