When I look back on the day I first met him,

My eyes were blind from the start .

But what was standing right in front of me,

Was something unexpected that truly captivated me.

Walking right through those doors as I sat next to him,

I knew right from the start, his eyes could never turn from me.

But when I look back at him, I know he can see me,

And I could finally see you, in front of me.

The second time I really looked at you,

In your eyes I saw everything about you.

I could not describe what it was that I felt about you.

All I know is that there was something true to you.

In the beginning with only a short amount of time,

You could not see what I lacked.

For you were happy when you saw me,

How I wish you knew how I was incomplete.

How I wish you knew I was shattered.

During the times I was scared,

The tears that shed so much fear,

From all the pain I endured.

I hid and ran from it all,

Hoping someday I could be freed.

For my heart was broken from all the hate,

The anger and betrayal could have made me faint.

But all because of you, you stopped the hate,

For I felt everything that was broken,

Was finally fixed from all the hate.

When I could finally see the light,

It was a sight that shines so bright,

That my whole world had shifted.

Because I could finally see me,

And it was all of me.

When you looked at me from the start,

Inside me you could see what was true .

I owe it all thanks to you.

If only those that knew the real me,

They would know that there was another side of me.

You could see me for who I really am.

Thanks to you I know who I am,

Who I am meant to be,

For you could finally see me.

When you laid your palm on my cheek,

I froze and I was unable to move.

It was as if time had stopped for what I seek;

For what I was looking for, was right in front of me.

Now that I could finally see you,

There was nothing I had to prove.

I knew at that moment when my lips first met yours,

That you were the only thing I could ever want,

And that you were the only thing I want to touch.

When you wrap your arms around me,

I want you to hold me so tight, and never let go.

Its moments like this I wish could last forever,

For I have never felt so safe, trapped by your love.

Even though I owe it all to you,

I wish people back then could have seen what was true.

For you changed everything what I thought I knew.

When you looked at me from the start,

Inside me you could see what was true.

Even when my world was falling apart,

You brought the light that broke up the dark.

Now when I look deep into your eyes I see you,

Not just for now but for everyday I’m with you.

Even though there are times we are apart,

I will never forget you from the start.

Your presence fills my heart and soul with so much light,

That it is so strong the darkness, inside fades away.

Now that my heart is so bright,

Nothing that comes our way, could ever tare us apart.

Something powerful, that holds us so tight.

That we are both strong and could never let go.

When I look at you,

I see all the forgiveness,

For there was no blame, that saved me from the pain.

You loved me for who I am.

I know love at times can be scary,

But that is the beauty of it.

All I can say is thank you for loving me,

Thank you for freeing me from the dark.

For I no longer have hatred in my heart,

All the resentment and revenge has faded into the dark.

For it is now healed and surrounded by the light,

And I am finally strong and out of the dark.

The day we first met and when my eyes first met yours,

I knew that there was something that only I could see.

I saw the complete and utter beauty of a true soul,

Whose roots run so deep.

For I saw the man that you are,

One who is stronger than anyone I know.

I see a man that can handle anything that comes his way,

A man that isn’t afraid to handle any challenge.

For he’s not afraid to face fear itself,

Only those that are strong, can never live in fear.

In your eyes I knew I was home, and I was safe.

When I look into your eyes, I only see what is true.

Nothing about you could ever make me so blue,

For there were no more tears to streak my face.

There is no safer place in the world,

Then being right with you.

I have nothing left to fear,

For my faith is stronger than my fear,

For I found my safe haven with you.

Now when I look into his eyes, and I see him,

I see the man that he has always been.

A man than is stronger than he thinks,

He may feel he always has to change for me.

When I would never change anything about him,

He is the most beautiful man I’ve ever seen.

I always wish that each and everyday,

He could just see himself how I see him,

That he is perfect and should not shy away.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, which is me,

For I can’t help from everything that I’ve seen.

That he is the missing piece of me,

That this life is never easy,

That I can’t help falling in love with him.

There are times where I see how he stands,

Where I see his pain is the same.

That’s where I can hear him,

And it’s the sound of him breaking.

Whenever he is in pain,

I stop him from shaking.

When he is suffering,

So am I, for his pain is mine.

That’s where I see, he needs me,

Then that’s where I’ll be,

For both him and me.

For I lift him up,

I pick him up.

So, he stands strong.

So, he never hits the ground,

Because of me he will never be down.

There are times he may feel he is alone,

When he doesn’t know.

I have been just as lost and alone,

When we are together, we are never alone.

We are stronger together, then we are part.

Before we met, we were broken.

If we can handle one storm,

We can face a thousand together.

We both know we need each other.

During the nights I hear you.

As I sleep you call out to me.

While my head rests I dream of you,

I dream of the day you’ll be with me.

The day you’ll take me in your arms.

Whenever I fear that I may fall,

I stop so that I may stand tall.

So, I can always carry it all,

That way we both don’t fall.

Whenever I am in pain on my darkest days,

Everything inside of me, screams back at me.

It is a voice that is telling me to run,

To run far away in every way.

To run right back to you and be with you.

There is not a single day that I don’t think about you,

For I am always glad that I found you.

I know we spent a lot of time apart,

Distance never stopped what happened right from the start.

We both know we freed each other,

Right out of the dark

The dark that could never keep us apart.

You saved me but, we saved each other,

That’s where we both need one another.

Our hearts ache because we are ways away,

We will always be together.

I’ve waited a lifetime for you,

I will always be you.

When your away from me,

I see you in the green.

I can find you in the forest among the trees,

With the light that shines right on you,

Is right where I’ll find you.

When I’m not with you,

You can find me in the blue.

For I’m in the deep blue sea,

The only place that I was free.

Where the light meets the sea.

At first, I thought love at first sight was not true,

I was so scared to love for the first time.

So frightened about how I can trust this,

But I now look back and see that I was wrong.

Love at first sight is something that is true,

It is a special kind of love that you must feel.

It is truly something you have to see.

Love does remain the same.

With or without an endgame.

For love is always brightest in the dark.

Everyone who believes in love should have it,

Embrace the impossible.

Believe that everything and anything is possible,

For you can have it all,

And things do last forever after all.

Alec, you have changed everything about me

I don’t know what I would do if I never knew you.

You brought so much light that broke up the dark,

For you have given me a new reason to live and be free.

I cannot begin to describe how much you mean to me,

I love you so much and that I could never let you go.

You became my safe haven,

For you have truly stolen my heart.

Something I did not think could ever happen,

But I am thankful for that.

Because if I ever want anything to be stolen from me,

This would be it, and you will always have it.

That way you’ll always have a piece of me,

Because you definitely have brought out the best of me.

Thank you for always being there for me,

Thank you for never giving up on me,

I will never give up on you.

I’ve never loved anyone the way I love you,

And now I know how, and I'm not alone.
