Saved by an Elephant

I was sinking fast

Saved by an Elephant

I wandered off the sandy track,

Then felt the ground pull me back.

A step too far, a careless slip.

Next thing I knew, I’d lost my grip.

The sand was soft, then not at all,

It grabbed my legs, I tried to call.

I flailed, I screamed, “Well, this is grand,

I’m sinking fast in quicksand!”

Just when I thought there was no chance,

A mighty trunk cut short my dance.

An elephant, so large and wise,

Pulled me up, what a surprise!

Now safe and sound upon dry ground,

I pat his head, he makes no sound.

Lesson learned, I understand.

Don’t take a walk through sinking sand!
