perhaps i'm trying to save

to save me from myself

but this is not acceptance

this is something else

this is not a dream come true

this not a stitch in time

this is simply just what it is

and it is just a simple rhyme

this was never about

what is fair versus what is right

it’s all about the wallet now

and why the belts so tight

this was simply supposed to be

another tuneless dirge of mine

so let's pretend not to slip on the rug

let’s pretend everything’s just fine

this was never a proclamation

an inhalation

before

a long and drawn out explanation

a diatribe in wrong or write

this was neither a weary hint

to insinuate left or right

this was never about whatever

blah blah, blah blah and blah

...who ya might have to fight

this was never a free ride

or a solution

to absolve you of your deeds and sins

this is not an unpowered glide

to save your scurrilous hide

to show you a real and serious side

to reflect and eject all of your snide

this is real is surreal

and is supposed to reflect

all we see all we know

and all we want

this is the well of eternal needs

and we will need

an eternity
