A sense of nostalgia for somethings you've never experienced

How can you miss something you’ve never had?

A feeling of loss for something that was never yours

How underrated it is to simply be happy with what you have

I miss the way you delicately lay your hands on my skin

I miss the uncontrollable laughter we shared

I miss the feeling I had when you walked into a room

How your face felt against mine at night

The painful conversations and late night debates

I miss how it felt to be truly loved and accepted

I miss what it feels like to be unadulterated me

Except, how can I miss these things when I’ve never had them

In fact, how can I miss you when you never even existed
