Salty Tears: Teaser
Click, Drum, Click

Within the salt lake of what you will see
A lake of small, connected, little seas
Beneath the wake grows tall stalks of kelp
Sturdy and strong like bamboo, you can rest on one for help

The horses and dragons below the water click
Run away from the anomalocaris, quick
Isopods that are the size of small dogs
They eat away at the lake bottom, feasting on fallen logs

Lobsters, clams, fish, and shrimp all abundantly well
Be wary of the clicking and drumming, they are those that break the shells
The dragons will lie ashore, pouches push water over their gills to breathe air
The anomalocaris flies through sky just as it does in water, hide in shelter, take care
Author's notes: If You enjoyed this teaser of a poem, its original inspiration has now been published and entered into Christopher Paolini's Fantasy Fiction Challenge. I hope You enjoy it.
Sincerely,

What I really loved about this is that you made scientific words like “isopods” and “anomalocaris” flow in a wonderful rhythm. This was a rich “teaser” and I look forward to the extended version! Btw, I will read your other entries this afternoon when I have some more time :)
Awesome!!! Left a heart!!!
