Salt Seasons, Light Shines

If I am salt, Let me season. If I am light, Let me shine. My time on earth Has a reason. My time alive Is not mine.

I love the jewel toned irises of humanity.

I love our various shades of skin.

I love our different shapes and sizes.

I love the light we share within.

I love when people laugh

And they come to life with joy.

I even love their tears,

Though I do not enjoy them.

...

If I am salt,

Let me season.

If I am light,

Let me shine.

My time on earth

Has a reason.

My time alive

Is not mine.

...

I love the seas, trees, and leaves.

I love the air and sky.

I love the day the Lord brings.

I love day and night.

I love our cats, dogs, and pets.

I love the beasts that roam free.

I even love all whom God never forgets,

Including you and me.

...

Since I am salt,

Let me season.

Since I am light,

Let me shine.

My time on Earth

Has a reason.

My time alive

Is not mine.

...

Because life is a gift that is given until the end of time.
