Packing the Essentials

There is something to be said

For shaking off the last relationship and

Being done with it.

Feeling free to begin again

And wondering who is just around the corner

Who will you bump into

That you would not have noticed before

Because your eyes and your skies

Were too full

Of him who is now

Not really even worth mentioning...

Mr what was his name again?

Time to thank him

For the lessons learned

And move forward to the next adventure

Knowing something better lies ahead...

Something beautiful.

Such a wonderful thing to feel whole-hearted again.

Almost embarrassed to admit

It has been a while

Since I had myself together

Since I had not given some part of me to someone

Who was in no position to care for it properly.

Soul...

Yep, all intact.

Tomorrow is a brand new journey and

I do not have room in my backpack for postcards from yesterday.
