Safe With Me

Utterance…

By Rowan Finley Published 9 months ago 1 min read

You’re safe with me,

be you, be free.

Look me in the eyes with your pale face,

your petals are as luxurious lace.

The humble dust on my shoes,

and the leather could sure use some glue,

like the glue my heart feels for your soul too.

I straighten my back and shoulders,

and turn away, my body growing colder.

Your words, they call, and bring me back,

and I feel your gaze, then there’s nothing I lack.

You watered me so well, with all the right phrases and reassurance in your utterance.

These are the type of words I could sputter on all the day long!
