Sadness Won’t Feel Normal

Happiness Won’t Feel Strange

By Stephanie JarrellPublished about a year ago 1 min read

Sometimes, all you can do is keep reassuring yourself that one day, things won’t feel this way.

Getting out of bed won’t always feel like a challenge

And you won’t be so cruel when you see yourself in the mirror.

Sadness won’t feel normal.

And happiness won't feel so strange and scary.

You’ll let yourself hurt, because hurting no longer feels like a weakness

And you’ll realize that the tight spaces you’ve been squeezed into, no longer serve you.

You’ll spend less time on autopilot, and more time being present

And you’ll realize that so much of your magic is disguised in the ordinary things you do.

So, even though you’re exhausted

And even though continuously trying to convince yourself that one day things will be better, feels like a pointless and never-ending cycle

Keep doing it.
