Sad Boy, Blue.

Horror Poetry

Sad boy blue,

Parents split in two,

You've seen things you can't unsee.

All alone,

In the dark,

Building towers around your heart.

'Til you found me.

Small enough to fit inside.

Pulled you in with the tide.

Remember when I held you as you cried?

Your savior.

To savor.

Sweet in the sheets and gentle with your dagger.

Knowing in the end, it wouldn't matter.

So go run with the wolves.

Live out your dreams.

Take whatever comes with ease.

You deserve it.

Coz there's always a light at home,

Warm enough to cure the cold,

In your heart.

***

But what about all those times in the dark I dreamt of a warm bath and a razor blade? "Til death do us part." On my knees begging you to stay.

You just walked away.

You were gone for so long. Didn't answer when I called. In fact wouldn't answer when I called. Are you coming home at all?

Maybe in a body bag? Sad to say it gave me a thrill to think of you that way. But if it wasn't you, it would be me. With all that red, you would never unsee.

What you did to me by my own hand.

So I hide in the shadows.

A woman's head will abet,

But her heart will ablade.

Fonder makes the longing,

There's just so much I can take.

My hands around the dagger,

My life begins anew.

You said I didn't matter.

Sad boy, blue.
