You've spoken of things
Things you've never experienced, words you've never heard, kindness you've never been paid...
I shrivel, like an empath overstimulated by everyone's misfortune
But in this moment, it's an isolated case
I feel all of yours
Those scars you hide lie translucent on my body
The silent cries you soak into your sheets manifest as wet spots on my pillow...
The knots that tighten beneath your breast, start at my ankles
I'm sinking in an ocean of you
It's a cosmic mass of kindness taken for granted, kisses exchanged as half measures...
I know now that you've never been loved as you should
I'm not speaking flowers for weakened knees, or poetry under autumn leaves...
I'm speaking on the value that spills from your cup
The one you merely smile at before someone's battered fingers give you something else to believe...
I'm here to remove the knots on the mast of the ship you sail on
I'm here to breathe in the fire that churns and eats at the wood that bridges your dreams to inaction...
I'm here to suffer on your behalf, ripping my wings from it's bones, and granting you access to heights you've never climbed...
Engulf me in your lonely so that you may feel accompanied
Engulf me in your sorrow so you may rediscover your smile
Engulf me in your agony so that simple sunsets may matter again
Engulf me in your resentment so that I may fade below with it, granting you new beginnings with the old you, who once lived merely because it made sense to...
