For Your Life

Acid rises and settles on your tongue as a bitter wind robs your lungs.

Even so, your feet hit the slats on the old train track, click clack.

Ice cuts through to the bone, your body turning to stone.

A shadow appears and the world goes dark, save for a flash and a spark.

Smell of damp decay and a metallic spray, why must it end this way?

I feel as if this person was maybe struck by lightning on a rail track? Or magically spirited away to a strange and distant world?
