Run

Color is Pride: True Colors Poem Submission

'Run' by Luke Paraman

Waking each day to a new dream

Still unsure what I'm meant to do

Blissfully lost

Blue like the eyes of a boy I once knew

A train window protrudes

My viewing platform of the world

A cinema screen of green hills

Starring as Hollywood pearls

My new home eludes me

For a home I have none

Just a boy and his suitcase

Living his life on the run

I breathe for new worlds

Of things I barely know

The black of Nordic rivers

And the white of English snow

Becoming unmovable like stone

A mainstay of this fleeting life

A painter of the world

A carpenter with a knife

I'm a wandering nomad

For which my end has no sight

Finding the colours of the world

Until no longer is my light
