Rose Gold
rose gold wings, buoyant balloon without string, heart zero gravity
rose gold wings
buoyant balloon without string
heart zero gravity
ribcage branches
keeping watchful guard
fragile forbidden forest sign:
no float aways here
*
if not for
blue marble eyes
capturing warm tree sap gaze
hot summer sun chewing lip
eyes screwed shut, all
sharp citrus bite
nerves raw like wounds
*
heart love blind,
writing in braille
that brain can't read
all monolingual dreams
static loud yet lulling,
shushing fussy mind who
whirs like childhood top
threatening to tumble down
*
nervous eggshells in cake batter
whimsical faeries drinking dew
anxious fly flirting with iridescent glass
brought together by chance
rose gold lips smiling shy
new fawn limbs bumping
awkward champagne love bubbling
then rising
flying away
away
away
away
About the Creator
R.C. Taylor
I write to invoke, to process, to honor, to resurrect, and—sometimes—to grieve but, above all, I write to be free.
Follow along for stories about a little bit of everything (i.e. nostalgia and other affairs of the heart).
