Romantization of a Rebel Heart

Ignite the Fire

By Seashell Harpspring Published about a month ago 1 min read

A rebel heart

Is more than just

A teen out too late

A punk band jam

Or a Madonna album

Rebelling is bravery

Not to be romanticized

It is walking away

When something is not right

Within a group

Refuse to be the scapegoat

In a bad game

When life isn't a game

It's a journey

A lesson

A chance to give care

Stand up for those who need it

Not lying down

When it's easier

Or more comfortable

Armoring a backbone

To ignite a fire

In the cold path left behind

While others have to watch

The flame slowly flicker out

Only smoke left for those

Who did not properly

Tend to the hearth

Trying to find the flame yet again

By invading to hear

where a path has led the fire

Staring at the flame

Instead of creating their own

inspirational
