I always considered myself a hopeless romantic and wondered what that really means. Here's how Cerebral at resilience lab.us describes a hopeless romantic:
β¨πΈ ππππ‘ ππ‘π‘π£πππππ₯ππ π ππ π£ ππ π§π- You see love as a meaningful and transformative force, which allows you to fully cherish romantic experiences.
β¨βπ ππππ₯πππ π‘π₯ππππ€π -Your belief in love can inspire hope, even during difficult times. This optimism may help you stay open to connections and possibilities.
β¨βπ£πππ₯πππ πππππππ ππ ππππ₯π€ -Hopeless romantics often prioritize romance and make efforts to create memorable, heartfelt moments in relationships.
β¨πΌππ π₯ππ πππ πππ‘π₯π- Your sensitivity to love allows you to form deep emotional connections with partners.
β¨The downside to being a hopeless romantic is fairly obvious: unrealistic expectations, difficulty accepting imperfections, overlooking red flags, and emotional vulnerability. But....
Our Triune God gave us a Helper, the Holy Spirit, who gives us Discernment, which is a powerful gift that allows us to see beyond the obvious and natural. With a discerning mind, we can see past a person's words and deeds to their heart and intent, which allows us to make good choices.
God created us in His image not just physically, but also mentally and spiritually. He knows every thing about us that we consider imperfections, but He sees them as individual details that make us unique. No two people are alike, even identical twins aren't identical. It's mindblowing to think of everything we have been given, from the color of our eyes to salvation through Him in the flesh, the Christ Jesus. One of the divine gifts is compassion, and it's how some people see His Light, shining through us.
So I guess I really am a romantic, but not the hopeless kind. My heart knows what it knows... that it's possible to love deeply without unrealistic expectations, that it's possible to see imperfections as imperfectly perfect, that only emotional vulnerability can fully receive love and that honesty is the greatest form of intimacy.

βLove suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.... And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.β I Corinthiansβ¬ β13β¬:β4β¬-β7β¬, β13β¬ βNKJVβ¬β¬
