Rockin' Our Way to Humanity

A Poem

By mel ashtonPublished 8 years ago 1 min read

Ingredients

One pebble small or large in weight.

One person oozing kindness.

One location.

A world of conflict, divided by culture and ignorance as the political embrace division, it takes the actions of one to generate a unified thought. Community spirit. Not as we saw in the second World War or during acts of terrorism. But in the heart of every child, parent, grandparent that places that much loved stone with their artistic interpretation. Standing alone, hiding in its environment, waiting for the next caring hand to move it on to its next stage of its journey.

I picked up that stone and with a joyous hand took it to a place so close to my heart. A place that gave childhood memories of a warrior mum exploring the countryside with her brood of children. Now, that same spot that gave my children the same delight of exploring and freedom.

Memories of generations now connected with the hope that a simple act of kindness can be shared and understood without the need for words.

Pass the hope on.

The long journey home.
