Time takes a breather.
Thoughts of my grocery list
Disappear in the fragrant steam,
As espresso pools at the bottom of a glass.
A Ritual:
Watching coffee fall,
Feeling the cool floor beneath your feet,
Hearing the profoundness of the silence
In the space between your heartbeats.
shhhhhhhh
Time comes back from its smoke break,
Grinding the minutes back into gear,
The machine sputters its dregs out over the counter,
And I remember to add dishsoap to my grocery list.
