Rise Above

The path of least resistance isn't always the easiest

By Chris SantiagoPublished 12 months ago 1 min read

Not a day goes by

That I don't miss your smile

but I'll keep my promise

And hold my silence

no one will notice

I'll hold my tongue

Though every breath

Deep in my lungs

And beat of my heart

Yearns for each nights sleep

That fleeting chance in dreams

for once everything can seem

escape the sorrow of reality

to a world where your arms inviting

no more pretending of unseeing

living life quietly screaming

trapped the villian I'm playing

In the story they're creating

I'll play my part perfectly

although behind these eyes dreaming

for nothing but a fantasy

About the Creator

Chris Santiago

I've always found a bit peace and release in putting word to written medium. I'm by no means an accomplished wordsmith but I find enjoyment in it. My love for writing started from world building that being a dungeon master provided.
