Riding the Wind

No landing island

By Amy ChristiePublished 3 years ago 1 min read

The breeze touches your soul,

it calls you to come

for a spell

on life’s roads but up high

over the clouds

where stars and thoughts can be touched

in a maze

of flowers and emotions,

colors that shine with hearts

whenever words

reach home

to happiness.

***

If you go with the wind

there is no telling

how far you will travel

or where the crossroads wait

to make you wonder, choose again,

decide which wave to follow.

There is a sea of clouds,

tempting emotions

each more assertive

than the other.

***

Your heart is like a lantern,

it guides you when it’s dark

or when the sky fills up

with storms, lightning,

and thunder.

Anger is washed away

by healing rain,

the drops

land on your heart,

they make the pain and suffering

melt in a blue

haze of forgiveness.

***

Trust the wind,

it will take you

to where you need to be

there is no island

of safety below,

nowhere to land

unless you follow

the dreams that lead you

to serene gardens

of joyful content.

***

Agitation, doubts

are cleared in the dust,

the wind leaves all behind.

You are not here to worry,

you can make your heart

whole again

if only you dare

to believe

in yourself beyond mirrors

of others’ opinions.

***

The laughter, criticism

cannot touch you

when you ride high above

you can be safe

among the shadows

as long as wind stays

faithful friend.

You will not have to linger

more than a blink,

a flitting second

in places where sadness

throws seeds

of anger and annoyance.

***

Your soul is made for light

to shine embraced

by moonbeams.

Reach for the purple light

when the breeze takes you

up in clouds,

on balmy evenings

when the moon

wants to have talks

of yesterdays long gone,

of those that come

and foretell

passions to unfold

in your tomorrows.
