Ribbons In The Sky
for Calling all Poets! An unofficial challenge in honor of National Poetry Month By Natasha Collazo

Ex marks the spot
crossed out and erased
except for webs of memories
hopping in now and then
Bouncing in neural transmissions
nibbling at today’s joy
Blink, blink it away
Spin and shake
X it out again
I signed the dotted line
Breathed in, breathed out
broke those ugly grips
and broken, mean ties
Then, I saw ribbons in the sky
pulling me forward
breaking me out
blasting ahead
not looking back

Note: I wrote this poem after hearing that today, April 14th, is National Ex-Spouse Day.

Love how took something so mundane and see all the time and interpreted it in a beautiful way.
Lovely poem to go with the photo.

Beautiful piece, and what a great pic!
It seems there is a day for everything. I liked your poem and your image. I love clouds; they are so inspiring.
Love the way ties turn into ribbons setting you free. Fab poem!
