Rhyming on The Eighth of The Month
Every month a rhyming day…
My writing group rhymes on the eighth of every month, except in February when we rhyme daily. I am going to share one of the rhymes put together by four of us just for fun, along with a couple of others!
It is the eighth of December
How does time go so fast
Yesterday I can’t remember
But I for sure remember the past
And today is a blast
A great day for baking a great Holiday treat.
Also, a good day to eat, eat, and eat.
It’s 40 degrees above zero
The sun is my hero
Authors Denise & John Lindquist, Carol Verant Arola and JoAnn Boorman

Lately not much rhyming
Perhaps it’s been bad timing
Hibernation setting in
No excuse to not jump in
A certain bear is on my mind
I’m painting him in my spare time
Working hard to make him mean
Yet his eyes still twinkle with a friendly gleam

~Yuletide Gifts~
Children out in the snow sledding,
Troubles and fears they are shedding.
They play yell and sometimes fight,
Travelin’ down the trails just out of sight.
Carefree and courageous past the trees they zoom!!!
Singin’ Yuletide carols spiritually cleaning every room!!!
Their little faces were so jolly and full of spice,
Seeing smiles and laughter ever so nice.
What a gift to Witness with my very own eyes,
Being present with family is always the true prize!!!

My writing group is great! And all so talented. Several more talented poets could be included but for today, only the poets with the art are included along with our group effort of rhyming on the 8th!

Ohh! These rhymes are pure joy—festive, nostalgic, and fun! Perfect for the season—makes me want to bake cookies, paint a bear, and go sledding all at once. Cheers to your writing crew! :)
And this poem truly captures the moment...and the rhyme!
Everyday is a good day to eat hehehehe. That bear pic is soooo awesomeeee!
Great poems! Sounds like a great group. I love a good writing group. I'm in several.
I really loved the poems and the images and the memories that they bring back to me. Great work.
