Returning Home
A mother caresses
Sharing our pain and successes
With brother's loyalty united
The tears unbearable, all to be reunited
These gentle looks, a sigh of relief
Pain vanishes, letting go of the grief
Memories refill, everything we adored
Whole again, a pack once more
Never letting go, tomorrow can wait
This moment, a dream, it's our welcomed fate
All we had, all that remains
A bond that ties us, that flows in our veins
Strength needs patience, as it arrives
With one event, changes all these lives
Together we rive above, alone we sink below
Tragedy, mistakes, is how this family grows
Take my hand, the fight doesn't stop
A storm subsiding, but the rain always drops
Afraid and lost, words that are locked away
Black and white, my kin are the needed gray
Our hearts filled, our stories will be told
Love doesn't fade, it all waits on hold
Born into acceptance, raised into affection
Returning home, is the meaning of perfection
