RESTFUL IN THEE

The earth is wide.
We searched for peace;
We couldn’t find it,
without knowing where to look.

We pursued what manipulated us.
Our investments were in vain.

We couldn’t find peace.
We looked west.
Our hearts were troubled.

We thought
luxury would help,
only to bring tension
between those who are close to us.

We could not catch up
to those who were in competition with us.

Our longing for peace was shuttered.
Hope faded away.
Our spirits were weary.

We stopped pursuing,
but God never ceased.

He found us in the dark
and brought us out
to glow with His light.

Today we speak peace.
We are full of peace,
for He is a loving God.
