Restart

It's time to start again

By Justin CoccimiglioPublished about a year ago Updated about a year ago 1 min read

I loved you,

Blissfully and gently, wholly and profoundly,

I finally accept that we will only be friends,

It's time to restart.

.

.

How do I look at her like I looked at you?

She's so pretty, lively, and fun.

Am I really still so numbed out by love,

After a year of pulling away from you?

.

.

How many centuries did I love you in past lives?

How many fantasies where you loved me?

A thousand millennia with you in my dreams,

Forcibly burned out of my heart by my mind.

.

.

Today I'll try something else,

I'll give up on love for now,

I'll work on myself and tear myself from,

Your deadly green eyes and floral scent.

.

.

I'll refresh myself even if it hurts,

Become a new person if I have to,

This mind can only love you,

It's time to restart.
