REPENT

to mom repent

By jinchenPublished 4 years ago 2 min read

I recently listened to the song "A Dad and A Mom", and I burst into tears every time I listen to it. I was a prodigal son who turned back and I wrote a poem expressing my remorse to my mother.

One of your kisses in swaddling

One of your smiling faces when babbling

One of your support as a toddler

make me feel

As long as you are by my side

I am happy happy

your love for me

Make me infinitely dependent on you

Gradually

I am in your arms

on your shoulder

under your whispers

grow up

I am full of wings

eager to break free from your shelter

Towards a wider world

Your orders and teachings at this time

It's all chatter

I'm like a wild horse

one-time quest for freedom

finally

I lost

I can't find my way home anymore

sink into sinking

In the end, you will go to the abyss of sin

I can only imagine when you learned of this tragedy

how amazed

how panicked

i lost my freedom

physical and mental pain

But I know your heart hurts more than mine

more bitter

oh mom

in your eyes

I've always been a little kid

When everyone accuses me of laughing at me

You will still love me, love me and forgive me

oh mom

is your perseverance

It's your no regrets

gave me strength

in the endless darkness

in the roaring ocean

I struggled to get ashore

Clear the dark clouds

in the sunshine

move forward bravely

oh mom

I see you have open arms

eyes full of tears of joy

waiting for a hug

Waiting to embrace which one gets lost

which once innocent child

Now

that breaks your heart

The child who worries you

Growing up in predicament

adult in hardship

oh mom

Why are the corners of your eyes more wrinkled?

Your temples have added grey hair

Why is your waist bent?

Mother

my dear mother

let me take a good look at you

Look at your toiling hands

look at your old face

Son don't know how to describe you your greatness

I just want to say a word to you son

Mom, I love you

love poems
