Remember
Remembering
Remember when Santa looked like dad
We knew he knew when we were bad
When we were good, we had it made
When we woke up on Christmas day
Remember when we could not sleep
The excitement kept us counting sheep
We’d red ink Sears, drawing circles around
The gifts we’d find in dressing gowns
Baking with mom on Christmas Eve
And the joy that comes from just believing
Window shopping about town
Watching the fire as snow fell down
Remember snowmen filled with Christmas magic
Snowball fights in daddy’s jacket
Flashing lights and jingle bells
Christmas sights the sounds and smells
Remembering is what keeps you close
The ones of us I miss the most
Wish you were here, again, with me
Making new Christmas memories
