Memories flooding my mind
In scenes of crude imagination
Reflections bent the blowing pine
Bending our view and destination
*
Family ties and history
Alter the truth and recollection
Extending joy or misery
Stories so sweetly mentioned
*
Fear and faith hide behind the eyes
Recalling moments we’ve forgotten
Reliving the hellos and goodbyes
As soft as treasured cotton
*
Faded photos now yellowed and faded
Cherished more now, then when they were made

Memories well remembered.
A lovely way to remember our memories, thankyou xx
Your sonnet gracefully explores the delicate interplay between remembrance and imagination, and your language evokes both the warmth and ache of revisiting the past.
Sometimes we look back with rose-coloured glasses but sometimes not.. I expect it is the same for many families, but to cherish what we’ve got now. Or at least the positive memories that remain. Thoughtfully penned, Kelli.
