Humanity accepts that virtue has vanished in a sermon of hate.
As each day passes, I keep my religion only to lose my faith.
The essence of who we are, annihilated - in the search of our very own crown of thorns.
Enforced secrets, disable perseverance - in our thirst, we feast on blood diamonds.
The war rages, yet, there are no souls left to fight.
Missing in action, their divine light faded - somehow, disappearing into the night.
Six-feet under, eyes deep-set, unconsciously numb to their deprived expression of regret.
My sins drown out their darkness, their sins enliven my daemons.
Divine salvation knows no blessing - only immortal sufferance.
Humanity preys on virtue, and prays for a reason to hate.
Tempted by the sweet, drawn in by the serpent - I kept my religion and lost my faith.
About the Creator
Jollyoddbod Poetry
Here I am, and here I'll stay;
Like the moon in the darkness that refuses to fade.
Clouds will cover, but cannot take from my reign;
Mark this as the moment that they realise, as they scoff with distain.
They fell asleep, I cannot be blamed.
