Yesterday I got angry at you again.
I screamed.
LOUD.
Oh, so loud.
Too loud.
I stopped hearing the music.
Then...
You let me be for a while.
Then you explained yourself
You told me to calm down
But not in the usual,
Demeaning way.
I heard the music again...
Softly.
I told you I got triggered
You apologised.
I cried..
It feels like a dance we've done before.
To a tune that's familiar.
But this time,
We're a little more careful
To not step on each other's toes.
We're relearning, I feel
Step by step
ooo, baby
Remembering some forgotten moves
That brought us together
In the first place.
But also rediscovering...
Some new moves
To new rhythms
New sounds
New beats to the drums...
That we need
To keep the love alive
To stay together.
