Rejoining the World

Fall, Rinse, Repeat

I soar high above

To see where love fits in

I see many changing

From one to another thing

.

The higher I go

The more I look

But the less I see

Of the things I forsook

.

Vision fails this high up

I can't see myself in love

So I fall back to fit in rudely

Upon the world from high above

.

It's not a pretty landing

It's filled with scars and pain

It takes my breathless breath away

And then comes back yet again

heartbreak

Well-wrought! The consolation for such a one would seem to be that the most profound acts of love need not be reciprocated. Any parent should understand. We only accrue it to give it away.

I'm with Dharrsheena. But also, your writing is so versatile. I never know what I'm going to find when I read something of yours. This feels thoughtful and quiet.

  • This was so poignant yet so beautiful!
