Regret, Remorse, Renewal
Rebirth

I have a box
Hidden in dark recesses
Of my soul
It's there I lay shameful,
Regretful thoughts and deeds.
*
The box remains secure
From peering eyes, judgement,
And all ill-timed scorn;
’Tis where echoes fight for life
Amongst encroaching weeds.
*
One day
When I am strong and brave
I’ll strike a match, set it all ablaze
Inhale the bitter stench,
Of the inferno with undying glee.
*
Yes, one day
When I am strong and brave
I’ll discard this indentured box,
Choosing renewal and rebirth
Growing flowers instead of weeds.

THe last line is the best, really brings it home ☺
'Tis where echoes fight for life Amongst encroaching weeds. Wow. I really love your last line, too. It’s brings this beautiful piece full circle.
Well-wrought! A consonant concept in nature is that of the Phoenix Forest. Many blessings!
