Reflections

Poem

By LyanSty34Published 9 months ago 1 min read

Long gone,

you’ve left

but showed me the truth

The mirror

can’t lie

through my eyes I see you

And no matter

how close we were to the stars

We already knew

it would never last

I’m still asking myself

when I strode down this road

Was I starring at you

inside this world’s uproar?

My soul sank

at the bottom of that lake

And there I heard a whisper

of all the words we exchanged

At least now I realized

you’ve never left me intenionally

You came to leave

everyone ends up there eventually

My mind now

became a mess

Every time I try to catch a thought of you

it blurs

Then I look more persistently

in case you’re still there in my eyes

But the only person I distinguish

is myself in an empty room

I found out that indeed

the mirror can’t lie

I only wanted to feel your presence

once again I assume

Your reflection is gone

it existed only in my head

There is no reason to mourn

you were never here,

equals, you’ve never left.
