A Christian’s growth has just begun
It’s God refining gold
Improving us until we’re done
And Jesus is the mold
He starts the process in His smelt
To purify the heart
So when the heart begins to melt
Its structure comes apart
His bellows may appear as crude
Refinement often is
He molds us so the heart’s renewed
Becoming more like His
A separation starts to show
Bad habits start to stop
His perfect grace that churns below
Bring toxins to the top
He keeps on skimming off the dross
Reversing our defeats
Until reflecting more the cross
This process He repeats
Despite a heart completely clean
A Christian isn’t through
When God achieves the perfect sheen
He’ll see His Son in you
