Endless movies,
Ready for a midnight showing,
What would you like to see tonight?
The film unreels,
The projector clicks and stutters,
I am the one behind the curtain,
I am the one on the screen.
The reel rolls forward,
Images flash before my eyes,
Scenes my mind has etched into memory,
Scenarios that have not happened,
But very well could be a reality.
The countless possibilities,
The exhausting consequences.
So many stored away,
Kept for later viewing,
When the world goes dark,
And a false silence sets the stage.
